It's Easy to Pay for Paintings
If you pay by cheque, make it payable to Janet Carmichael. Paintings are shipped after personal cheques have cleared through both banks.
You can pay by money order in Canadian and U.S. currencies.
You can make credit card payments through Paypal , which is a safe and easy service to use.
Please, never, ever mail currency; I cannot be responsible for monies not received. I will provide my mailing address when we discuss your order.
Conditions of Sale
I want to deal honestly and forthrightly with you, my client, so there are a few items I need to spell out, so we are both happy with the transaction for my paintings.
 Prices are quoted in $Can.
All images are copyrighted worldwide by me, Janet Carmichael, for all media.
Images on this site are copyrighted.
Customs charges, VAT, import duties, imposed by destination country, if any, are extra and collectible upon receipt by the carrier. (This has yet to happen, but might, so I need to state it. Art is usually exempt. Check with your country's Customs Department for particulars. )
When payment is received, your painting will be shipped.
More Shipping Information
Shipping is usually regular surface economy by a reputable commercial carrier chosen by me for best price and service to you. It varies, depending on the destination, which is why I cannot give a standard fee for everyone.
Unless otherwise requested, your painting will be shipped via "Best Method" by a reputable carrier and insured for the value.
Shipping to U.S.A. and Canada is usually by mail or courier and takes 2-3 weeks.
The price for shipping is what the carrier charges me and includes insurance.
My standard packaging is paper wrapped in cardboard. Wooden crating can be arranged at further cost.
I ship my paintings stretched, if on stretchers, not rolled, so that the paint does not crack and I find the best method for each delivery, depending on cost and service you desire.
Exciting News for Canadian Business Owners!
Did you know that Canadian tax law allows business owners to purchase and write off original Canadian art in its entirety? The acquisition of original Canadian art is included in the capital cost allowance for all Canadian businesses, providing the artist was a Canadian citizen when creating the work and the work of art is an original worth a minimum of $200.00. Canadian art acquired by businesses for display in an office may be depreciated on a declining-balance-basis even though it may depreciate at a much slower rate, and may even appreciate. The special capital cost allowance claim for Canadian art is intended to further the dissemination of Canadian art, as well as to support Canadian artists.
